Job Summary

Azista Space Systems is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager (Space Systems) to lead strategic supply chain operations supporting satellite, space systems, and aerospace manufacturing programs. This leadership role will be responsible for developing a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective global supply chain strategy while ensuring timely availability of mission-critical components.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and global suppliers to drive strategic sourcing, supplier development, procurement excellence, inventory optimization, and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy

• Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and program delivery timelines.
• Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and procurement roadmap development.
• Build a resilient and scalable supply chain capable of supporting complex aerospace and space programs.
• Drive continuous improvement across supply chain operations.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Lead sourcing strategies for critical mechanical, electronic, RF, propulsion, and aerospace components.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial contracts, pricing, and long-term supply agreements.
• Develop make-versus-buy strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.

Supplier Management

• Build long-term strategic partnerships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Drive supplier development and continuous performance improvement.
• Reduce supplier lead times and strengthen supply continuity.

Supply Chain Risk Management

• Develop proactive supply chain risk management frameworks.
• Mitigate risks associated with sole-source suppliers and global supply disruptions.
• Build contingency sourcing strategies and business continuity plans.
• Monitor geopolitical, logistics, and supply market risks.

Inventory & Supply Planning

• Optimize inventory levels while maintaining uninterrupted material availability.
• Improve inventory turnover and working capital efficiency.
• Support demand planning and material availability for manufacturing programs.
• Monitor On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance and supplier lead times.

Logistics & Global Trade

• Coordinate domestic and international logistics activities.
• Ensure timely movement of materials and components across global supply networks.
• Manage import/export operations and customs compliance.
• Optimize transportation costs and logistics performance.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and international trade regulations.
• Maintain adherence to:

• Support customer audits and regulatory inspections.
• Ensure complete procurement and supplier documentation.

Digital Supply Chain & Process Excellence

• Drive digital transformation across procurement and supply chain functions.
• Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for procurement and planning activities.
• Implement predictive analytics and automated inventory planning solutions.
• Develop dashboards and supply chain performance reports.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Engineering on Design-for-Supply-Chain initiatives.
• Support make-versus-buy decisions during product development.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to ensure successful program execution.
• Participate in customer reviews and audit readiness activities.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain organization.
• Build high-performing procurement and supply chain teams.
• Support succession planning and employee development.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing.
• Experience in Aerospace, Space Systems, Defence, or High-Reliability Manufacturing.
• Willingness to work from or relocate to Hyderabad, India.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business.
• Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
• Experience in NewSpace, defence manufacturing, or low-volume/high-complexity manufacturing environments.
• Fluency in Telugu is an advantage.
