Supervisor – Warehouse Operations

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor – Warehouse Operations to lead day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and seamless inbound and outbound logistics. The successful candidate will oversee warehouse operations, manage inventory, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead a high-performing warehouse team while maintaining safety, quality, and operational excellence.

This role requires strong expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, SAP, logistics planning, and manufacturing supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

• Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, order preparation, dispatch, and shipping.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing and production operations.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics to improve warehouse efficiency and service levels.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate operational waste and improve warehouse productivity.

Inventory Management & Stock Control

• Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy between physical stock and SAP system records.
• Conduct daily cycle counts, periodic stock audits, and inventory reconciliations.
• Perform quarterly ABC/FMR analysis and annual inventory ageing analysis.
• Identify slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory, and recommend appropriate disposal or optimization actions.
• Monitor and maintain optimum safety stock levels for Semi-Finished Goods (SFG) and Finished Goods (FG).

Warehouse Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Implement and sustain KANBAN, FIFO, 5S, and Lean warehouse practices.
• Train warehouse employees and contract workforce on warehouse processes, inventory controls, and operational best practices.
• Monitor material flow efficiency, including Water Spider activities, to ensure smooth production support.
• Conduct regular warehouse audits and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and operational performance.

Customer Order & Material Fulfilment

• Ensure On-Time Material Delivery (OTDM) to production and customers.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Dispatch, and Logistics teams to achieve efficient order fulfillment.
• Improve warehouse response times and optimize order processing cycles.

Budget & Cost Management

• Prepare and manage warehouse and logistics budgets, including:
• Local transportation
• Packaging materials
• Domestic freight
• International air and sea logistics
• Monitor logistics and warehouse costs against approved budgets.
• Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs without compromising service quality.

Freight & Logistics Partner Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard transporters, freight service providers, and Clearing & Forwarding (C&F) agents.
• Optimize freight utilization through shipment consolidation and effective transportation planning.
• Balance logistics cost optimization with service reliability and customer requirements.
• Monitor logistics partner performance and implement improvement initiatives.

Subcontractor Management

• Plan and coordinate weekly raw material supplies to subcontractors.
• Conduct monthly stock audits and inventory reconciliations at subcontractor locations.
• Monitor subcontractor inventory, quality, and delivery performance.
• Validate stock reconciliation reports and drive corrective actions where required.
• Support supplier and subcontractor performance improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse staff and subcontractor support teams.
• Establish clear performance objectives and monitor team productivity.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, root cause analysis, and problem-solving initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Warehouse Management, or Logistics will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Warehouse Operations, Logistics, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain.
• Experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial Equipment, or Heavy Engineering industries.
• Experience handling warehouses with large SKU volumes and complex inventory environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and end-to-end supply chain processes.
