About the Role
Saint-Gobain is looking for an experienced Manager - SCM to lead end-to-end supply chain operations across demand planning, forecasting, inventory optimization, procurement coordination, production planning, logistics, imports, exports, and digital transformation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving supply chain excellence by improving forecast accuracy, inventory performance, customer service levels, operational efficiency, and supply chain resilience while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Customer Service, Production, Imports, Exports, and Logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Inventory Management
- Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts using statistical forecasting methods and commercial inputs.
- Improve forecast accuracy and optimize inventory levels across product categories.
- Implement ABC/XYZ inventory classification and material allocation strategies.
- Establish safety stock policies to maintain high product availability and service levels.
- Monitor order ageing and reduce slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
- Improve inventory turnover and working capital performance.
Material Planning & Production Coordination
- Coordinate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor the availability of critical raw materials and supplier deliveries.
- Coordinate import documentation and customs clearance activities.
- Provide material availability visibility to production planning teams.
- Work closely with Production Planning & Control (PPC) to align production schedules with material availability.
Supply Chain & Logistics Management
- Manage end-to-end outbound logistics and customer order fulfilment.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and monitor service performance.
- Optimize freight costs through route planning, transport mode optimization, and load consolidation.
- Ensure compliance with GST, E-Way Bill, Customs, DGFT, BIS, and other regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Customer Service, Imports, Exports, and Logistics teams.
- Align procurement schedules with production and business requirements.
- Resolve cross-functional supply chain bottlenecks and operational challenges.
- Present supply chain performance metrics during monthly business reviews.
- Drive customer-focused supply chain initiatives across the organization.
Digital Supply Chain Transformation
- Lead implementation of Advanced Planning Systems (APS), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and digital dashboards.
- Drive automation across procure-to-pay processes and freight management.
- Develop supply chain control tower capabilities for end-to-end visibility.
- Utilize Power BI, SAP Analytics, or similar BI tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Evaluate emerging technologies including AI, Machine Learning, IoT, and RPA to improve supply chain performance.
Supply Chain Risk Management
- Develop contingency plans for transportation and logistics disruptions.
- Build supplier risk assessment and mitigation frameworks.
- Monitor geopolitical, regulatory, and commodity price risks affecting the supply chain.
- Minimize inventory obsolescence through proactive inventory reviews.
- Develop business continuity plans for warehouse, logistics, and supply chain operations.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop cross-functional supply chain teams.
- Foster a culture of Trust, Empowerment, and Collaboration (TEC).
- Build team capability through training, coaching, and cross-functional development.
- Promote workplace safety and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance.
- Conduct regular team reviews and support employee development initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across the supply chain.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Benchmark supply chain performance against industry best practices.
- Improve logistics, procurement, warehouse, and inventory management processes.
- Support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) through supply chain planning, budgeting, and capacity planning.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in Demand Planning, S&OP, Forecasting, Inventory Management, and Material Planning.
- Experience with MRP, Production Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Imports, and Exports.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and distribution management.
- Experience managing Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers.
- Knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, DGFT, BIS, GST, and export documentation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Supply Chain Planning tools, and Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI or SAP Analytics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience driving digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Management will be an advantage.
