About the Role

Gamlaa Bioscapes is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and optimize its domestic logistics network while managing occasional international imports from Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end transportation planning, third-party logistics (3PL) management, freight cost optimization, import coordination, and logistics budget control.

This role requires strong expertise in India's transportation ecosystem, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build efficient logistics networks that support business growth while ensuring service excellence and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Network Planning & Optimization

• Design, implement, and optimize primary and secondary distribution networks across India.
• Develop efficient transportation strategies to improve delivery performance and reduce logistics costs.
• Monitor interstate transportation activities and ensure compliance with E-Way Bill regulations, statutory requirements, and state-specific transit procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency through network optimization and route planning.

Third-Party Logistics (3PL) & Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage third-party logistics providers, transporters, freight partners, and express carriers.
• Build long-term relationships with logistics partners to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve delivery timelines, shipment quality, and damage reduction.
• Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Freight Procurement & Cost Optimization

• Lead commercial negotiations for Full Truck Load (FTL) and Less Than Truck Load (LTL) transportation contracts.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates, service agreements, and contract terms with logistics service providers.
• Develop freight consolidation and route optimization strategies to improve vehicle utilization and reduce transportation costs.
• Analyze logistics spend and implement initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings.

Budget Management & Logistics Analytics

• Monitor logistics budgets, transportation expenses, and freight costs across multiple regions.
• Prepare monthly logistics performance reports, cost analyses, and executive dashboards.
• Track key logistics KPIs, identify performance trends, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Present cost optimization opportunities and operational insights to senior management.

Import Logistics Management

• Coordinate occasional import shipments from European suppliers to India.
• Liaise with Customs House Agents (CHAs), freight forwarders, and shipping partners to ensure timely customs clearance.
• Ensure compliance with Indian customs regulations, import documentation requirements, duties, and applicable trade regulations.
• Manage import documentation, shipment tracking, and coordination with internal stakeholders.

Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Ensure all logistics operations comply with company policies, statutory regulations, and transportation standards.
• Drive process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reduce transit risks, and improve customer service levels.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on logistics performance, service quality, and supply chain resilience.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in Logistics Management, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Distribution Operations.
• Experience working within MSMEs, Manufacturing, Retail, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Industrial Products, or Distribution environments will be preferred.
• Strong understanding of Indian transportation networks, carrier markets, and regional logistics operations.
• Experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PLs), transport contracts, and freight procurement.
• Working knowledge of import logistics, customs clearance, and European-to-India shipment processes.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and import compliance requirements.
