About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory cum Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee inventory management, incoming material inspection, and finished goods quality control. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring the quality of raw materials and finished products, and preparing materials for uninterrupted daily production.

This role requires close coordination with Production, Procurement, Accounts, Logistics, and Suppliers to ensure efficient material flow, inventory optimization, and timely order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Manage inventory of raw materials, consumables, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
• Receive, verify, and record incoming materials against Purchase Orders (POs), delivery challans, Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), and invoices.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure optimum inventory by maintaining minimum and maximum stock limits.
• Identify shortages, excess inventory, and slow/non-moving items, and communicate proactively with Procurement and Production teams.
• Conduct daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits, investigate stock variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure proper storage, binning, identification, and traceability of all materials using part numbers, bin locations, and stock labels.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) principles and inventory control best practices.

Quality Control

• Inspect incoming raw materials, including mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and engineering components, against approved specifications and quality standards.
• Segregate and label accepted and rejected materials, and coordinate with Procurement and suppliers for replacement of non-conforming items.
• Perform quality inspections of finished goods using approved quality checklists, inspection procedures, and test reports.
• Ensure finished products are correctly labelled, packed, and documented prior to dispatch.
• Maintain complete quality inspection records, rejection reports, and test documentation.

Production Support

• Plan and issue materials to production in line with daily and weekly production schedules.
• Prepare production kits and organize materials model-wise or kit-wise to ensure uninterrupted production activities.
• Coordinate closely with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.

Process Compliance & Coordination

• Maintain inventory and quality documentation, including GRNs, issue slips, stock registers, inspection reports, rejection notes, and inventory records.
• Implement and sustain 5S practices, housekeeping standards, and organized storage systems across stores and inspection areas.
• Work closely with Procurement, Production, Accounts, Logistics, and Quality teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely dispatches.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, quality performance, and warehouse efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

OR

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce with significant experience in inventory management and stores operations.

Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in Inventory Management, Store Operations, or Warehouse Management with exposure to Quality Control of engineering materials.
• Experience in the HVAC, Heat Pump, Refrigeration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Equipment industry will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience using ERP systems such as Odoo or similar inventory management software.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for inventory reporting and stock management.
• Basic understanding of quality inspection methods for mechanical and electrical components, including visual inspections, dimensional checks, certificates, and basic testing.
